The Christian Union is not a church and cannot begin to offer some of the great things being part of a Church brings. Instead we are part of a church and help find suitable churches for new students. We believe it is so important for all our members to be regularly attending a church for a number of reasons. Churches have a long term vision forming a stable setting for your growth as a Christian at University. A Church is also a family of all ages where you can find wisdom and support throughout your university life.
Your decision is very important because it will strongly impact your years at university and affect your growth as a Christian. So pray hard and think about what you value in a Church! Try really hard not to just tag along with the first person you meet, instead do some research into the local churches and we will support you in settling at the church you want. Take a few weeks to decide, don't feel like you need to make a decision straight away.
So what matters to you most? What is going to help you the most as you follow Jesus Christ at university?
Below are some great churches on offer in Bournemouth that Christian Union students are part of.
We are a lively and dynamic student community, passionate about living all-out for Jesus. Our community is about creating small community in a big Church context, doing life together.
We are a community who want to reach the Bournemouth urban area and the nations with the good news of Jesus and gladly partner with other churches that share this same aim.

We believe knowing Jesus changes the way we live, so we want to support each other as we live to follow Jesus. 'LIFE' is our gathering for students and other 18-30s which takes place every Monday at 7pm in various locations;
At St Swithun's there are many families with children and teenagers in the church. Being right opposite Bournemouth University’s Students Union building, a large number of students worship on Sunday evenings. There’s a thriving social scene for young adults, and a surprising number of older people who seem to enjoy the contemporary music.
We love students! We want to help every student in Bournemouth find God and make friends. St Swithun's is a home where students can be supported and built up to become everything God wants them to be. We are a new Anglican church that's been planted from Holy Trinity Brompton. We're a fun community of friends, with a vision to play our part in the re-evangelisation of Bournemouth, the transformation of its society and the revitalisation of the church.
We meet on Sunday at 10:30am (or join us for breakfast from 10am) on Gervis Road, BH1 3ED. Many students also head to the 7pm evening service and get there half an hour early to catch up and make new friends. Thursday evenings is student night with food served from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
At Coastline Vineyard we are passionate about being church every day. Sure you'll hear the latest worship songs from Bethel, and a cracking talk from one of our pastors, but at Coastline we want more. We want to love this town to life by being sold out for Jesus and committed to the cause. Honestly, Coastline probably isn't for you if you only want just 2 hours of church each week!
